England Defeats Pakistan by Innings and 103 Runs in 1st Test at Leeds

England delivered a dominant performance to defeat Pakistan by an innings and 103 runs in the opening Test of the three-match series at Headingley, Leeds. Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue shared eight wickets apiece as England's pace attack proved too strong for Pakistan across three days.

England scored 409 in their first innings with Brook making 91, Cox 73, Root 66, and Lawrence 51.

Pakistan collapsed to 171 in their first innings, with Josh Tongue taking 5-46 and Ollie Robinson taking 5-51.

Chasing a deficit of 238, Pakistan managed only 135 in their second innings in just 37.3 overs.

Robinson and Tongue took 3-29 and 3-43 respectively in Pakistan's second innings, finishing with 8 wickets each.

Jofra Archer took 3 wickets across both innings to complete England's pace quartet dominance.

It was England's joint-second fastest Test win of Joe Root's captaincy, achieved in just 1053 balls.

England now leads the three-match series 1-0.
